Somerset West Unitarian Fellowship

We are a group of people interested in learning about 1) spiritual ideas for ourselves and 2) the work that committed people do in order to make a difference in society. We share thoughts about what we learn to help us be more giving, loving and compassionate towards others. We believe in truth, love, justice and the inherent worth of every single individual, and invite all who share these values to join with us.

We meet once a month at 10:30 am on the first Sunday in the Chapel at the Vonke House/Park, 121 Lourensford Road, Somerset West (across from the Playhouse.)

Our 3 February presentation is

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition."

--- Steve Jobs, the late Apple CEO

In the course of my studies, I have discovered that the religious quest is not about discovering “the truth” or “the meaning of life,” but about living as intensely as possible here and now. The idea is not to latch onto some superhuman personality or to “get to heaven” but to discover how to be fully human.
