January 2023 Newsletter

Greetings, CTU Members and Friends –

Welcome to 2023! What a delight to travel this spiritual journey with you all. This month’s theme is “finding your centre”, and it seems so appropriate for these uncertain times we are living through. How do we ground ourselves despite the waves and winds that want to blow us all around?

Note that we have finalised our budget for 2023, and will send a separate email about what is planned. Exciting projects will get underway, and we’d love you to be a part of them! One of these projects is “The Future of CTU”. What does our beloved community want to become? If you’d like to be interviewed and share your insights, I’d love to hear from you at nimajanettaylor@gmail.com.

With love and light,

Nima

UPCOMING SUNDAY TOPICS

Please note: All services are now hybrid

8 January, Sunday – Burning Bowl Ceremony: Join us for this annual tradition of reflecting on the past year and exploring what we want to release in order to start fresh with a clear intention in the new year.

15 January, Sunday – Exploring the work of Cynthia Bourgeault: For those of you not familiar with this contemporary Christian mystic, she presents the teachings of Jesus from a profoundly different perspective than what most of us were taught. Nima will consider the parallels with the Buddhist tradition of Dzogchen as well as other traditions that speak to our ability to integrate divine love into every aspect of living.

22 January Sunday – Cultivating Compassion Instead of Criticism: Together we’ll explore how to discover our inner knowing through reflecting on our inner dialogue. What are we are saying to ourselves? Are those words helpful or hurtful? Nima will shared some tools for inner listening.

29 January Sunday – Annual Water Communion: This month, we ask each of you to collect water from a source near you—a pond or ocean or even from the tap, and bring with you on this Sunday as we celebrate the symbol of water joined together just as we are joined together in beloved community.
