Greetings, CTU Members and Friends –
Our February theme is “Love”. We’ll explore going beyond romantic love to self-love and even Divine Love! We are delighted to have our member from Oxford, Jacky Woodman, sharing a reflection on Love from two female mystics’ perspective. Then, we have Christine Terry who will be sharing “Centering Prayer” with us, with some practice opportunities.
Check out the details below of a Games Evening Friday, 10 February, and don’t miss a very special artist, Gitte
We as a community and as individuals want to practice Radical Hospitality! We want everyone to feel included on Sunday mornings. So, if you are coming to the building, and are able to bring some tea, biscuits or sugar, etc. that would be SUPER helpful!
With love and light,
Nima

UPCOMING SUNDAY TOPICS
Please note: All services are now hybrid
5 February, Sunday – Visions of Love, Jacky Woodman: Jacky will explore with us the concept of divine love as espoused by two female mystics Rabiah of Basra (714 -801 CE), a Sufi mystic and Beatrice of Nazareth (1200 – 1268 CE), a Cistercian nun.
12 February, Sunday – Centering Prayer, Christine Terry: Centering Prayer is a practice in which we consent to the working of Ultimate Mystery on our essential being so we can move from our heads to our hearts. Christine is a seeker of this Mystery. Her spiritual formation has wandered through various iterations until she settled into the wisdom tradition with Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina as her primary practices.
19 February, Sunday – Practices to cultivate more love and kindness : Nima will explore several practices from both a Buddhist as well as Christian mystic perspective. Join in for some practice and time for reflection about how might one integrate these practices into everyday life.
26 February, Sunday – Eternal beings in a physical body? : Come share your perspective on this complex question. Who or what are you? Why are you here? What is your purpose. Join us in a lively discussion about how we each might answer these fundamental questions!
